Lesson #10: Context Creates Content That Matters

Content without context
is just noise.

Before you launch anything—
a feature.
a promo.
a stunt.
a contest—

ask the only question that matters:

Why are we doing this… and why should the listener care?

Too much content serves the station—
not the audience.

That’s the problem.

Context is the reason to care.
The reason to stop.
The reason to listen now.

If there’s no clear purpose,
no payoff,
no benefit to the listener—it doesn’t belong.

When the why is clear:
execution gets sharper.
storytelling gets stronger.
and the audience leans in.

Context gives content meaning.
Meaning creates connection.

Great stations don’t fill time.
They make moments matter.

Context drives.
Content delivers.

Takeaway:

If it doesn’t matter to the listener, it doesn’t make the air.
